Description
This pamphlet is based on a paper presented at a meeting of Sandplay Therapists in Zollikon, Switzerland, September 1982.
One of the essential points of sandplay is that it elicits a confrontation, and a bringing together, of opposite aspects or parts of oneself which leads to centering and the experiencing of wholeness. By providing the subject with a tray of sand, a source of water and a large selection of miniatures with an invitation to “make anything you want to,” the therapist supplies a “free and protected space” in which the subject can use the sand, water and objects to initiate and sustain a transforming process guided by the unconsciousness.
