The Animus: An elective seminar (Not for Women only)

This seminar will begin by following Jung’s original notion of animus through Hillman’s revisions of the notions “anima and animus” to Giegerich’s notion of the animus as “the soul’s own other.” Following this historical review we will consider fairy tales, dreams and clinical material to demonstrate the practical and clinical uses of each paradigm. (Not for women only.)

- Describe two ways that Hillman revised Jung’s notion of Animus.
- Describe Giegerich’s conception of Animus
