Presented by Amanda Foulger
In this workshop participants will have the opportunity to experience guided imagery and rhythmic drumming as an introduction to shamanic journeying. In this process drumming is utilized to help shift one’s consciousness from everyday reality to a more internally focused dimension of consciousness, much like a dream state.
In a state of deep relaxation and internal focusing, the shamanic journey serves as both a symbolic as well as a lived experience of internal knowledge, and spiritual guidance, with a focus on healing from within.
Amanda Foulger studied for many years with Michael Harner, an anthropologist, and educator who developed Core Shamanism and later the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. Amanda was a senior faculty member at FSS, and has taught and led workshops in shamanic healing for over 30 years, as well as conducting ceremonies and blessings, and working with private clients.
Her own experience with a personal heart condition has both informed and deepened her work as a shaman.
