Presented by Lynne Radomsky, Ph.D.
The connection between the hunter and the healer will be explored, particularly in the amplification of the juxtaposition of the Eland Hunt and the Eland healing dance, both of which are central to the healing mysteries of these ancient people. For the Bushman, the Eland hunt and Eland dance is the ritual that serves as a vehicle for initiation as well as an opportunity for personal transformation. In this workshop we will focus on the amplification of the Eland hunt and healing dance as an image of personal transformation in striving for a coniunctio between the personal Tao and the universal Tao. By tracking the symbolic process of the Eland initiation ritual, we will observe and witness the autonomy and creative function of the objective psyche.
Course Objectives:
- Describe the role of the objective psyche in psychological development.
- Give an example of some parallels between the amplification of the themes in the Eland hunt and Eland dance and the individuation process.
- Describe the psychological tasks of the Eland hunt and dance, and its relevance to the individuation process.
