Rocketman: A Cinematic Journey Through the Tarot-CANCELLED
March 27 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pmPrepaid Cost: $30 – $35
Presented by Christopher Miller, Ph.D.
In Jung and Tarot Sallie Nichols writes that the best way to get at the individual meaning of cards in the Tarot deck is to approach them as one would paintings in an art gallery. Such images stimulate the imagination and lead to self-knowledge, both of which are essential to what James Hollis calls the journey of enlargement. With the aid of images from Rocketman, we shall discuss the Fool, Devil, and World cards as they apply to the life and music of Elton Hercules John.
Christopher Miller, Ph.D., is adjunct faculty in the M.A. Counseling Psychology Program at Pacifica Graduate Institute. From 2005 to 2018 he worked at the C. G. Lectures on such films as Boyhood, Birdman, and The Revenant reflect his ongoing interest in points of convergence between mythology, depth psychology, cinema, and culture.
