Psychology and Religion: West and East, CW 11
This seminar focuses on the first three lectures in Jung’s Vol.11, Psychology and Religion: West. Consideration will be given to understanding Jung’s ideas about the autonomy of the Psyche, his ideas regarding the nature of natural symbols, as well as their history and psychology. Candidates will learn the clinical relevance of this material as it relates to their understanding of their patients’ search for meaning and its relationship to depression. Furthermore they will be able to observe and describe the appearance of unconscious material in the clinical setting and learn how recognizing this material is integral to treatment.
