SUMMARY:Complex Problems in the Era of the Quick Fix
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Seth Wigdor Robbins\, MD\, MPH \nJungian psychological theory has been developing for over a century\, and provides a meaningful paradigm for many of us to practice analysis and psychotherapy. Patients struggle to grow and individuate within the demands of modern culture\, as society ambivalently faces the need to transform to provide for a sustainable future. As contemporary practitioners\, we need to question our approaches\, so that we can improve our ability to meet patients’ personal needs. Do we self-evaluate sufficiently? Do we understand our place among the myriad treatment modalities that are emerging today? What issues do we need to consider to ensure that our depth-oriented approaches can remain relevant and thrive in the current mental health marketplace? \nHow can we use our perspectives to contribute to a psychological understanding of current societal challenges that might enhance discourse about our collective life?
