Dear Jungian Community,

The long-awaited and beautifully illuminated Red Book by C.G. Jung will be available at our Institute Bookstore. We are not offering it in our on-line bookstore. The cost of the book is $180.00. Analyst, Alchemist Circle Members, KCRW Fringe Benefits and KCET Infinity card discounts will be applied to our purchase price. The book will not be delivered or mailed, due to our concerns about possible damage to the book in shipping. Those of you who order it will be called or e-mailed to pick it up at the bookstore and charged for it when it arrives. We are happy to be able to include a handsome C.G. Jung Bookstore Tote Bag when you pick up your copy. We appreciate your purchase of The Red Book from us, as the proceeds will help to support our independent bookstore, and we anticipate that this will be a very special addition to your exploration of the works by C.G. Jung.

In The Red Book, Jung brought together thought and image in an 11.57 x 15.35 inch red leather bound manuscript that he maintained from 1914 to 1930. With the greatest of care, Jung recorded his personal explorations of the psyche in colorful, intense graphic images, many of them mandalas, accompanied by his introspective reflections written in calligraphic script. Here, Jung recorded the inner experiences that led to his evolving formulation of insights into the nature of the psyche. Never before published, The Red Book will not only impact the understanding of Jung's personal journey, it will give readers a deeper understanding of the ground from which major concepts of Analytical Psychology germinated. The standard edition of the book is a folio sized volume exactly the same size as the original, consisting of 205 pages of text and paintings, of which 53 pages are full images. The English edition includes 220 additional pages written by Sonu Shamdasani, a pre-eminent Jung historian. They include an introduction, translation of the text, and appendices.
