The child is never far from the greater Self. --Hilde Kirsch
The Hilde Kirsch Children's Center (HKCC) was established in 1978 to honor the memory of one of the Los Angeles Institute's founding members. Hilde Kirsch understood the profound experience of working analytically with both the emerging psyche in children and the early childhood experience of adults. Hilde wanted children to be supported in ways that would lead to the discovery and expression of their unique personalities.
As envisioned by its founder, the Hilde Kirsch Children's Center trains professionals, parents and teachers, and provides a protected space for children to explore their inner worlds through Sandplay and other creative and non-intrusive treatment modalities. The HKCC Child Study Group pursues the study of the developing psyche, from it's earliest stages, through discussion of current clinical literature and the presentation of case material.
As a branch of the Kieffer Frantz Clinic, the Hilde Kirsch Children's Center provides psychotherapy for children and adolescents for a reduced fee. Clinical services for adults are provided through the Kieffer Frantz Clinic. HKCC therapists include Jungian analysts, licensed psychotherapists in the analyst training program, and field placement interns specializing in child therapy.
